An audit is an assurance engagement in which extensive procedures are performed to provide you with the highest level of assurance. An intensive examination  of your company's systems and records is performed in order to express an opinion on whether your company's financial statements are in accordance with the prescribed reporting framework.


In review engagements, we seek assurance that the financial statements or other information is plausible within the framework of appropriate criteria (IFRS, ASPE, NFP, special purpose framework, interpretation of an agreement, statute, or regulation). This differs from an audit in that less extensive procedures are performed and  negative assurance is given (less assurance than an audit). A review is less costly than an audit.


We assist in compiling financial statements, or other financial information. A compilation does not express any form of opinion or negative assurance. This is the least expensive alternative and is most useful for tax purposes.

    Tyler Hicks

    CPA, CA, LPA, BBA –  Partner

    Tyler graduated from Brock University with a Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours), Co-op Option in June 1993, received his CA designation in 1994 and became a partner in 1995.  Tyler has been our office managing partner since 2008.  During his time with the firm, Tyler has worked extensively on a variety of the firm’s audits including both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations.   He has over 28 years of experience in assisting clients from manufacturing, retail, service and agricultural industries.  

    Tyler enjoys coaching youth sports, volunteers for his local Church as treasurer and enjoys getting out to his home course at Erie Shores Golf and Country Club.  He is a proud member of the Leamington Kinsmen Club and was co-chair of the Fundraising Committee that raised over $2M for the double ice surfaces.  Current projects include the Hogs for Hospice event at Seacliff Park raising over $200,000.

    Heather MacPherson

    CPA, CA, LPA, BAcc  –  Partner

    Heather joined the firm in January 1998 on a co-operative placement from Brock University.  She went on to get her Bachelor of Accounting (Honours), Co-op Option in 2001 and her CA designation in 2002.  She became a partner with the firm in January 2004.  Heather has vast experience working with our many audit clients.  She works with both for-profit and not-for-profit clients and has many years experience working with the agricultural sector and the various farm support programs.   Heather has a wide variety of personal clients and extensive experience in completing personal tax returns.

    Heather has been the treasurer for the South Essex Community Council for the past eight years and volunteers in their yearly income tax clinics for low income individuals.


    Lindsay Iatonna

    CPA, CA, LPA, BAcc - Partner

    Lindsay has worked for the firm since 2002 on a co-op basis while obtaining her university degree.  She graduated from Brock University with a Bachelor of Accounting (Honours), Co-op Option in June 2005 and received her CA designation in 2006.  Lindsay was admitted to partnership in January 2007.  She has extensive audit experience as a student and a partner of the firm.  Lindsay has been key in educating clients and adapting the firm’s audit procedures to comply with new auditing standards and for keeping the firm’s audit methods up to date.  In addition, Lindsay has a wide range of experience working with a variety of corporate and personal clients.

    Lindsay was a big sister with the Big Brothers Big Sisters Windsor Essex and was a member of their Board of Directors.  

    Tim Driedger

    CPA, CA, LPA, BA - Partner

    Tim graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with a Bachelor of Arts Honours Economics and Accounting degree in June 1997, and received his CA designation in 2002.  After spending eight years with a national firm, Tim joined the firm in 2009 and became a partner in 2012.  Tim has vast experience working with a variety of corporate and personal clients in various industries.

    Tim coaches the Essex Rookie baseball travel team and is a past treasurer of his church.

    Ashley Meyer


    Ashley has worked for the firm since 2007 after graduating from the University of Windsor with a Bachelor of Commerce Honours Business Administration degree.  She then went on to earn her CPA, CA designation in 2010.  She became a partner with the firm in January 2018.  She has had extensive audit experience as a staff and manager at the firm.  Ashley's focus is to provide audit and assurance services to our firms wide range of clientele and advice to small and medium sized, owner-managed businesses.   

    Ashley is very active in the community putting in many volunteer hours each week at her church where she is a part of numerous programs.

    Community Involvement

    HMID partners and staff believe in giving back to our community.  We have donated to the Leamington Splash Pad, Leamington Kinsmen Recreation Complex, Leamington United Mennonite Home, Leamington Hospital Foundation, UMEI Gold Sponsor, Sunparlour Rodeo and many other worthy causes.  We support Big Brothers and Big Sisters during their annual Bowling Fundraising event.  In addition, our firm has donated over $70,000 in services last year.
